Our community came out in force for our latest international kdb+ conference on May 18th, making it the largest gathering of kdb+ programmers to date. Exciting announcements included the addition of kdb+ to the Google Cloud Launcher and to Anaconda’s distribution platform, as well as the news that Magnitude/Simba is creating a new, more powerful kdb+ ODBC driver.
A highlight of the day was the release of kdb+ 3.6. This latest version of kdb+ includes a number of impressive features, including the ability to analyze unstructured data. You can find documentation about kdb+ 3.6, as well as other exciting additions to the kdb+ tool box announced in the past few months like kdb+ on-demand, the Jupyterq notebooks, embedPy and free PyQ on code.kx.com.
We had a terrific panel of presenters, and want to particularly thank our speakers from Intel, Google, Anaconda, Quantitative Brokers, Citadel, BitMEX, Simba, Nick Psaris and Aston Martin Red Bull Racing! You will find slides from many of the talks in the agenda section below, accompanied by video where feasible. The first video of the presentation, featuring Robert Almgren of Quantitative Brokers is also residing on our Kx Youtube channel. Please subscribe to the Kx Youtube channel so you don’t miss any other videos as they are posted.
We hope you enjoyed the event and look forward to more kdb+ events and conversations with you in the years to come. While kdb+ has been the foundation for exceptional programs for decades, today, more than ever, it is finding a role in the changing computing landscape. We look forward to exploring with you, our Kx community, its potential for machine learning applications, IoT, cloud computing and more.
